solArchitecture:

Focuses on ecologically sustainable design utilising passive solar principles.

Aims to participate in humanity's reconnection with the earth with buildings that strive to be ecologically sustainable in their water, energy and material use.

Designs buildings as landscaping elements, defined by the rhythm of openings, texture, and the way light moves through space.

Believes structures should appear permeable to allow the passage of light to define its mood with glimpses through and beyond to help locate the building in its landscape and to become a primary aesthetic element.

Uses local materials and colours to help connect a building to its landscape. I would like to think that as our concern for our impact on the environment expands, our interdependence and sense of connectedness will grow. Materials and skills will become localised once again and houses will clearly represent the areas that they are built in.
